Pop-Up
Writing Workshop
A Free Monthly Workshop with a Changing Focus
If you know Wildfire Magazine, you know each issue is on a theme related to our survivorship. Our free pop-up writing workshops are prompt-based and change monthly. Each are focused around a specific theme or population relevant to our community. This is a great way to dip your pen in the proverbial ink or find a new community that is especially relevant to your experience. Join us to connect with your community while getting in touch with your story.
Who is it for this month?
Sign up for our Hot Flashes newsletter to be the first to hear about our next pop-up.
How does it work?
Join your Wildfire community to learn how to start writing along with others who understand you. In this 90 minute prompt-style workshop, we’ll write away some of our stress and find some healing in the long run by using writing as a tool to find meaning. You’ll make new friends and fill a notebook along the way, even if you don’t consider yourself a writer! No writing experience is necessary to participate. Facilitated by your host, April Stearns.
The workshop includes:
60 minutes of writing (divided among different prompts)
April's quick tips for accessing and writing stories
Time for sharing your writing after each prompt if you wish
Devoted time to transition in and out of writing with poetry and guided breathing
